Reasons
for Prayer
The prayers of the righteous availeth much. Prayer
looses strongholds in our lives. How many times
have we prayed over our finances, house, car and
spouses. It's good to pray for these things but
God says seek Him first. Our prayer before the
Lord should be "Give me more of you Father".
I want an understanding and knowledge of You.Our
prayer lives should become organized in God's
presence.
The
Lord's Prayer
The Lord's prayer is the main prayer God expects
us to say to Him. Matthew 6:9-13 Our Father,
who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name. Thy
kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as
it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive
our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but
deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory. Forever. Amen.
Build
A Library of Prayers
After consistent praying of the Lord's prayer,
we should build a library of prayers. The hebrew
word for prayer is Tphilah. Tphilah is intercession
for ourselves and someone else. Bearing the
infirmities of the weak can be hard but intercessory
prayers can help get you through. The psalms
are a good source of intercessory prayers.
Communication
with God Begins with Prayer
Prayer is relaying the desires of your heart
to God. He has searched our hearts. Be honest
with God. He knows your needs. He answers us
according to His will. He witholds no good thing
from the righteous. A consecrated prayer puts
Him first. Once we're in communion with Him,
He reveals the timing of His will. He addresses
our needs according to His perfect plan. Sometimes
we get frustrated because we feel God does not
hear us. Let patience have her perfect work
in your life. Dont get frustrated and impatient
in your prayers to God. He sees your heart in
spite of what your mouth cries out. If He is
first in your heart and you acknowledge Him
as Lord, He will lead you into victory. First
we must tell Him we love Him. Lift up His name
in song. He will answer you.
Prayer
Puts God First
The beauty of holiness is being set apart unto
God. Die to self. Make up in your mind that
God is first. If He is first, you understand
the first steps to reconciliation back to Him.
Reconcilation brings on holiness. God can not
teach you about holiness if you refuse to bring
your body to Him as a living sacrifice. The
Holy body is exceptable and pleasing in His
sight. Romans 12:1-2
